Whipped Body Butter

Like butter for your skin, its a great handmade gift that takes only a few ingredients and tools.

It’s something that can be used for an adult or even a kids skin. Depending on the persons allergies it can also be great for sensitive skin.

Ready to make this cool and refreshing handmade gift?

Lets get DIY-ing

Heres what your going to need:

1/3 Cup Coconut Oil (equivalent to about 2.5 ounces)

1/3 Cup Shea Butter (equivalent to about 2.5 ounces)

1/3 Cup of Raw Cocoa Butter or Unrefined (if you don’t like the cocoa butter smell) Wafers or Block (equivalent to about 2.5 ounces)

1/3 Cup of Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil, or Sweet Almond Oil (equivalent to about 2.5 ounces)

Some drops of Essential Oil (Lavender is a good choice) (about 15 drops depends on how strong you want it)

2 Tsp of * can use Arrowroot or Cornstarch To help cut the greasy feeling some people don’t like. It all preference.

Here is what your going to do:

  • Steam melt your butters in a glass bowl, combine all ingredients except essential oils. You can steam melt this by putting butters in a glass bowl big enough to fit them comfortably. Use boiled water in a separate pot and add that underneath the glass bowl filled with the butters. ** Note: This added boiled water is in a separate pot from the glass bowl. Let the heat from the boiled water melt the ingredients in the glass bowl.

  • Remove the glass bowl filled with the ingredients from heat and let it cool slightly before adding it to the fridge for further cooling.

  • Move to the fridge and let cool for 1 hour or until it l starts to harden a bit but still somewhat soft. Can test my putting your finger it it should be soft enough to pass through but hard enough that it is not liquid.

  • Use a hand mixer to whip for 10 minutes until fluffy. Add essential oils and whip for another minute.

  • Store in a glass jar with a lid.
